Vestibular Rehabilitation

Dizziness and vertigo can be very debilitating. Here at Revere, we will help you understand the cause of your dizziness and what needs to be done. We treat a variety of conditions. For example, we can help you with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), unilateral/bilateral vestibular loss (UVL/BVL), and/or any balance issues relating to vestibular dysfunction.


Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions often come with a lot of uncertainty, but it doesn't mean your rehabilitation process needs to be as well. Here at Revere, we use an evidence-based approach to both concussion care. We will assess and create a step-by-step treatment plan to help you return back to learn, work, and/or play.


Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

During your appointment, your therapist will gather a detailed history from you, spending time to identify and understand your pelvic floor pain and/or dysfunction. A detailed assessment of your pelvic floor will be done and may include an internal exam of the pelvic floor muscles (vaginally and/or rectally) - this is a digital exam (no speculums used). During your appointment, your therapist will gather a detailed history from you, spending time to identify and understand your pelvic floor pain and/or dysfunction.
A detailed assessment of your pelvic floor will be done and may include an internal exam of the pelvic floor muscles (vaginally and/or rectally) - this is a digital exam (no speculums used). This is to assess muscle tone, strength, endurance, and flexibility. If you are not able to or are uncomfortable with an internal exam, an external exam can be done. Treatments are guided by the assessments and may involve muscle strengthening, coordination training and or relaxing/lengthening muscles. Surrounding muscles and joints may also be assessed and treated. Your therapist will be able to provide you with education on your pelvic floor dysfunction and will give you exercises to go home with.

Growing up as a competitive dancer, Alex was always fascinated by the human body. To which she sought to understand not just the why but how it is we move our bodies. This ultimately led her to pursue a career as a physiotherapist. Alex graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Masters of Physical Therapy, after receiving a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the same university. Alex has completed multiple postgraduate clinical courses including her Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Level 1 and Introductory Vestibular Rehab. She is also a certified Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist.

On the days Alex is not at Revere, she also practices at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. She continues to work with patients recovering from stroke, SCI, orthopaedic traumas, joint replacements, arthritis, chronic pain, amputations and more.

Alex utilizes a collaborative approach with personalized treatment plans based on the patients goals. She believes that those who actively participate in their recovery will see the most meaningful and efficient results. Alex will often use manual techniques in combination with corrective therapeutic exercises to allow patients to restore movement, enhance function, and return to their activities of daily living.

Jenny is a physiotherapist who graduated from UBC with a Masters of Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science. In addition to treating musculoskeletal injuries, Jenny enjoys working in areas such as joint replacement rehab, geriatric fall prevention, paediatrics, work related injuries, and motor vehicle accident related injuries.

Teak completed his Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Calgary (U of C) and a Masters in Social Work from York University in Toronto, Ontario.

He is passionate about supporting those who have experienced difficulties in their mental health and has worked exclusively as a mental health clinician in both hospital and community based clinics since 2005.

He started working full time in the hospital orthopaedic wards and since then has transitioned into working full time in private clinics around the lower mainland.
